Polythene Surrounding World
When buying peanuts at
stores you have to ask them to carefully fold the paper. They may put it in a
polythene bag with a slight mistake in listening to ask. They give if asked to
fold in paper. This is not possible in other stores.
Polythene bags are
reused during the introductory period. It was a continuation of the habit of
reusing the cloth bag. Some people’s polythene bags can’t look on hand. They would
have been so dirty. They will be folded in the bag though and reused again and
again.
Over time, people have
come to the conclusion that they do not use a polythene bag more than once. The
widespread circulation of polythene has also proven that their results are
correct.
Then when Velangudi
uncle came to our house he would buy a packet of Britannia biscuit. The loaf of
biscuit is wrapped in a kind of oiled paper. Oiled paper cover for sweet and
savory varieties also used. Alva is wrapped neatly in a leaf and wrapped in
rose thread on paper.
There will be hanging
buckets at home to carry water if you go to lands and fields. There were also
those who prepared and carried glass bottles around the towel to keep them from
breaking.
If they go other places,
it was rare to buy water and drink it. If thirsty who stood in front of the
house and gave voice and bought water and drank. It is unbelievable to say that
there were times when river water and pond water were drunk without looking
clean. They drank that water and lived a healthy life. Even if we drink
purified water, we get typhoid and diarrhea.
Copper lotta and
hanging buckets were all in the house for carrying and buying milk. They will
keep a concentration in the milk container without pouring anything else in it.
Pantry to keep cumin,
pepper, dill. Pot to put tamarind. Ceramic jar to keep salt. Big vessels to
keep the rice. Bamboo basket to keep chillies and coriander. From that time we
have now come to the time of filling everything in plastic tubs with whatever
we want to put in it.
Everything you buy is
in polythene bags. Shirts, saris and dhoties whatever you buy are kept in
polythene bags. Even though you buy underwear called Banyan and Jatti, they are
still in polythene bags.
The groceries are also
in polythene bags. Vegetables are also stored in polythene bags and
refrigerated. Surrounding the flowers is also polythene. The food bought from
the restaurant is also in polythene bags. Hot tea is also packed in a polythene
bag. Polythene bags for drinking water.
If you buy ten cloth
bags in the shops, they just put the ten bags in a polythene bag. Merchants
have come to the mindset that whatever is given should be put in a polythene
bag. People have come to the mindset that they have to buy it in a polythene
bag.
Everything, including
the chairs, has now been replaced with plastic. Wooden chairs and tin chairs
are becoming obsolete. All around us are plastic and polythene rule around.
Since the Government
has a responsibility to control all excess, including law and order, the State
also has the responsibility to control the use of excess polythene and plastic.
The government also has a duty to correct if it is not seen by the people.
